It tests fine, but then i get an error message that immediately clears the screen after, so I paused it on it, and it is a bunch of error codes. I tried it on my Friends machine w/Gus and same problem. I also read someone else has this problem. It seems common. I am surprised Dynamix let Gus support on this one, and didn't just delete or hide the gus code until they got it working. I think they will be hearing a lot of complains about this one. Lets hope the HMI drivers are perfect, and it is coding error on Dynamix's fault. BTW< i am running on ALL default settings. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Oct 1994 17:19:19 -0600 (CST) From: ST4FX@Jetson.UH.EDU Subject: GUS & Pentium? I just got a pentium, and was listening to some of my MIDI files, but they sound kinda strange now. I think they sounded better on my old 386 (I didn't get the screeching notes). I've been using playmidi to play the files, anyone have the same kind of experience and have fixed it? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Oct 1994 13:29:54 -0500 From: AdvGravis@aol.com Subject: Re: GUS Daily Digest V15 #24 Wing Commander III uses the HMI drivers and has support for the GUS and the MAX. If you would like to purchase the UltraSound Experience CD ROM, which contains 40 minutes of digital audio and over 100 megabytes of additional bonus software, you can call (604) 431-5020, ext. 1095. I think the price is $6.95 but don't quote me. Dark Sun II indicated native GUS support (in both the CD and floppy versions), but because the game needs in excess of over 600K conventional memory free, and they are using UltraMid, it is a pain to use (CD ROM users cannot copy the drivers anyways). Use MegaEM, which works perfectly fine. Anyone out there have Armoured Fist? We thought Nova Logic was including a special version of SBOS (ala Commanche). Can someone please confirm or deny this for me? If you are talking about games with GUS support, please indicate whether or not it is a game demo or actual game. Most demos use outdated sound drivers and I do not want to confuse the issue. Thanks! I ask again; is there a > way to load the gus's memory to work with these new HMI-drivers ? The HMI midi drivers require 'loadpats' to be run first. Dark legions V1.1 provided Loadpats V1.9 - I don't know if this new version is required for HMI or not. > Date: Sun, 30 Oct 1994 11:15:30 -0500 (EST) > From: Timothy B Martin > Subject: WC III Question... > > Excerpts from GUS DIGEST: 29-Oct-94 by AdvGravis@aol.com > > We took a look at Wing Commander III, and all I can say is WOW! Subject: Re: Lands of the Lore with GUS - SOLUTION There is a file called LOLSOUND.ZIP by Marc Paulin, aka Jurassic Mark, that replaces the current setup file with a new one that allows you to select multiple sound cards, making it possible to use both Roland Sound Canvas and Sound Blaster configurations. I don't know where LOLSOUND is right now, but I'll see if I can FTP it to the EPAS tomorrow (MOnday). -George ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Oct 1994 16:26:01 -0500 (EST) From: "Christopher M.
