It seemed to work fine, but after a while, I noticed channel reversing on both wave patterns and the VU bar of built-in CD player interface in cthugha. When the left speaker sounds loud, the right wave/bar moves just like the right channel sounds loud. I believe that the configuration of my machine is OK, because any other software shows stereo panning correctly. Are there anyone who experienced same problem? Is it my fault, or cthugha's problem ? Thanks in advance. -- Yoshiaki KASAHARA Dept. of Comp. Sci. and Comm. They have a cripple- ware demo. It's 4 stereo tracks (8!)..written in hand-tuned 386 assembler, so it blazes. Why do we need to have this type of stuff uploaded to a GUS area? Yes, they use the GUS, but they are not GUS specific. And, they take up way too much space. I think anything that is not GUS specific should not be uploaded to the GUS area of EPAS. I'm not trying to make the rules, but I think it would help to alleviate some space problems. ==================================================== Mario D'Alessio Motorola 708-632-2323 He does the work of 3 men...Moe, Larry, & Curly! ==================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 4 Nov 94 15:18:51 EST From: Harry C Pulley Subject: UAKM: MIDI works for 256K patches only I got Under a Killing Moon the other day. I have found that the MIDI stuff works (i.e. game does not crash) if you use loadpats -mem1 (or run moongrav.bat which calls loadpats -mem1). This is because the -mem1 option only loads 256K of patches. Whenever I load more patches the game crashes. It seems quite stable with only 256K of patches loaded and the music isn't that bad (still a lot better than FM). So, if you have UAKM, try running moongrav or loadpats -mem1 instead of turning off the MIDI music. As for stereo sound, there is a config file, sound.ini that defines the capabilities of each card. I don't know if the lines in it are just text or if they actually define the way the driver is used. Mono 16-bit is listed for both GUS and GUS MAX. You can change the text so that it says 16-bit stereo in the Config screen but I doubt this changes the behaviour of the driver. I intended to ask why UAKM's gravis digital can not be set to Stereo. It automaticly goes to 16-bit mono when set up. In the manual there is an examplary pic with it set up with SB16-stereo. Hm. Anyway, game still barfs when running loadpats. Actually, you can sometimes play for a couple of minutes, but then the system falls. Was at the software-shop today and saw that Ecstacy supports GUS. This is a very awesome looking Alone In The Dark thing with ellipsoids instead of polygons.
