Who can tell me the pinout of the 4 pin CDROM audio input on a GUS V3.4? I suppose the two inner pins are ground and normally it isn't really important if I get the channels connected properly but I'd really like to hear the Left Channel on my left speaker and the Right Channel on my right speaker. Yes, I tried to RTFM but the manual didn't cover that topic. -tom ## CrossPoint v3.02 ## ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Nov 1994 11:01:09 -0800 (PST) From: Stephen Thomas Brindle Subject: Re: Clues for Tom > Date: Fri, 11 Nov 1994 22:43:59 -0700 (MST) > From: houlton@CS.ColoState.EDU (david houlton) > Subject: Clues for Tom > > > From: tom@cornhusker.oppd.gov (Tom Heng) > ^ > | > Speaks volumes +++++++++++++ > > Subject: Re: Windows native mod player? > > > From: Dylan Nicolle > > > Subject: Windows native mod player? > > > > > > Gusmod sucks, I think anyone with a scread of intelligence will see that. > > ^^^^^^ > > Anyone with a shread of intelligence can spell. > > Thanks, Tom. I think that's a great idea... having a gus-games digest would not only reduce the load on the gus-general readers but also, some people may just want info on getting the gus to work with certain software and are not interested in the gus-general stuff.. -- ________________________________________________________________________________ ariff@ix.netcom.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Nov 1994 17:50:29 -0500 (EST) From: Chuck Dedman Subject: Re: GUS Daily Digest V16 #12 On Sat, 12 Nov -1, GUS Server wrote: > ------------------------------ > > Date: Sat, 12 Nov 1994 10:24:15 -0500 > From: RonHall@aol.com > Subject: Gravis Upgrade > > Has anyone out there specifically upgraded to the GUS MAX from a normal GUS > via the upgrade offer? But I have noticed several folks are JUST inquiring about this upgrade offer which expired October 31st!!! I called Advanced Gravis on October 26th to ask about it and was told there would be NO extensions on time. Since I knew the Snail Mail would not get from Florida to Washington in time, I faxed the order that night. Hope your order form was postmarked prior to 10/31/94. It says in the faq that it is a v. 3.4 card with the extras, but the 3.7 has the mixer. Is this correct? sig ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Nov 1994 13:16:36 -0600 (CST) From: Antonio Guia Subject: starting out auxilliary software For those of you who have just gotten a GUS and would like to just get the files while will help you out, or the most recent software, check on ftp.umanitoba.ca in the pub/gus directory. Right now, i have set up a read-only directory accessible to anonymous ftp including the 3.56 drivers, propats3, a conversion program, the recent windows drivers, and the windows driver which makes a midi input device out of your computer keybaord. So far it's at 27 Megs and it should be available for at least another month or so. This is running on a unix box (sun-station to the best of my knowledge). Since i only use the card to embed sounds into my work files or to advise me of automated events i have set up, i really am not as current on the available midi and mod software. Games are also rarely ever on my computer, so i don't even know what kind of things are crucial to a beginner. I would appreciate advice from someone in these three areas as to which ONE or maybe two programs would be the absolute best for a beginner to get a hold of as they're starting out. Reply to guia@cc.umanitoba.ca, or if it's quicker for you, finger me to find out where to talk me at if i'm online (try guia@ccu.umanitoba.ca). As an aside note: I've been reading more and more messages which are completely unrelated to the GUS, and messages which tend to take up a few screenfuls. I'd like to ask people to please take care of their grievances on a personal basis (e-mail the individual, not the group) since it wastes resources, time, and bandwidth to a greater degree to post it to the group. Assume that it is generally understood that flaming is done by people who have not matured sufficiently, instead of having to remind us all of that. Thanks for you patience and sorry, i won't bring this up again since i'm myself wasting time right now. -tg guia@cc.umanitoba.ca ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Nov 1994 14:57:41 -0700 (MST) From: Ignatius Tam Subject: System shock demo Forwarded message: > > Date: Sat, 12 Nov 1994 16:18:55 +0100 > From: rits@xs4all.nl (Richard Ritsma) > Subject: System Shock DEMO from PC-GAMES > > I bought the December issue from PC-Games, becouse there was a demo > CD with i.e. SYSTEM-SHOCK on it. > > I've noticed that the demo can be configured to use several sound cards, > the GUS is one of them. > > I own a standard GUS rev 2.4 with 1 Mbyte RAM, most games worked fine > with this card for one and a half year now.
