I have the SCC1 output connected to GUS line-in. Just type "ULTRINIT -O -L" before loading WC3. ::: W i t y G a n d a :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Feb 1995 14:11:05 +1130 (???) Oh well, Gravis never seemed to take the 3-D thing seriously anyway.... > Subject: MK2 2 4button Joysticks? > > Is it possible to get 2 4 button joysticks to work with MK2? I have a dual Doesn't seem likely since the 3rd and 4th button on joystick 1 are simply buttons 1 and 2 on the second joystick (as seen by the system). > Subject: Video Card to buy?/MKII > > Now here's my bigge...I just bought a Matrox MGA Impression Lite VLB > graphics card, and it's DOS performance was big time crap (43 as rated by > .......... > to have killed my monitor), and I was wondering what's a good VLB card > which stacks up with games like WC3 and has 2MB VRAM (or more) and works > well with a GUS in the system? all replies/opinions are appreciated a This may seem like an unlikely solution to your problem but.... Any generic VLB video card based on the Cirrus Logic 5428 has great speed in DOS and quite acceptable speed in Windows too. In all the discussion I have seen on comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.video (or something like that) the CL 5428 has received the most votes of confidence and the least complaints. It's a cheap card and may not be as fast as many others, but it's definitely the most bang for the buck (IMHO) and the least hassle to setup. It's expandable to 2MB DRAM (not VRAM). They are available for under $100. If you're buying a monitor now you might consider one of these cards until you can afford an ATI WinTurbo or some such monster. :-) Just my 2 cents worth..... That was enough to make the game pad function again. Good luck. -- \//// |. .| ( - ) Broderdue ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Feb 1995 13:40:21 -0500 From: arg2@po.cwru.edu (Adam Glick) Subject: MK2 sound and joystick for those of you having probs with the sound of mk2 demo the full release wirks fine with has a ultramid file that makes it work so if ya want sould your gonna have to buy the game. as for the joystick prob.... if only 2 buttons work it is usually beacuse of a joystick port conflict. like the one on your guis and one on your i/o card. the prob lies in that some i/o cards ahev the joy port but its only made to support one joystick so multifunction or button joysticks don't work with it. the way around this is to disable the joyport on the i'o board (check the manual that came with it as to which jumpers to move) then plug the joystick into the gus. there you go have fun and i hope this helps -Adam arg2@po.cwru.edu 'A person who believes one thing will solve all their problems is a fool : they're twice the fool if they believe the thing that will fix their problems is money' ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Feb 1995 03:22:52 +1100 (EST) From: Darren Spencer Subject: Under a Killing Moon Has anybody had problems with the digital sound driver for under a killing moon? The program detects my gus but the sound test is garbled. I have tried heaps of different irq/dma combinations but all produce the same result. It works fine in all other games, so i assume it is the game that is stuffing up. Anyone know of a patch out there?
