I haven't been able to try these tr808 patches out yet because I do NOT know the patch mappings for them. Gall) Subject: Darkseed CD and GUS I've just spent about two hours tweaking my settings and the best I can get is verry very slow speech and no music in this game. I have the original gus card with 256K. The way I got the game to play with the slow speech is by using megaem. Has any one gotten sound effects and music to work with game? I just can't play a game without that good gus sound! You're used to it, nothing bad, only a bit of delay between songs. Yossi. |IN REAL LIFE: |IN PHYSICAL REALITY: |lioren1@weizmann.weizmann.ac.il |Doing stuff, some |Gravis Ultrasound advocate, (a.k.a. Please report any problems you have via email to: jayeson@gravis.com Some features of Mega-Em are still under development and are not required to test the more complex components of Mega-Em. The main feature missing is the Sound Blaster FM emulation. When reporting bugs, please include information about what kind of UltraSound you have (such as whether it is a MAX or ACE and if possible the board revision number), what memory manager you are using, a brief description of you system and if possible copies of your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS. Mega-Em is a software program which allows you to use your Gravis UltraSound to emulate the following sound devices: * Roland MT-32 * Roland Sound Canvas/General MIDI * Roland MPU-401 MIDI interface * Sound Blaster (Basic version only - not Sound Blaster Pro) In addition Mega-Em can also to replace the UltraMID TSR. Mega-Em effectively combines all previous UltraSound TSR programs - SBOS, UltraMID and older versions (2.xx) of Mega-Em. Mega-Em currently requires the following to function correctly: * A 386 or better AT class personal computer. * A hard drive. * A Gravis UltraSound/MAX/ACE card. * An Expanded Memory Manager, such as EMM386, QEMM386 or 386MAX. * Approximately 128k of free Expanded Memory (EMS). * DOS 3.3 or later (EMM386 must be from DOS 5.0 or later). Mega-Em will not work in an OS/2 or Windows DOS box. 9.0 MEGA-EM REVISION HISTORY ----------------------------- VERSION 3.03b (Beta) * First release of the all-new, rewritten Mega-Em. Emulates Roland Sound Canvas/General MIDI/MT-32, Sound Blaster and UltraMID. Improvements over older (2.xx) versions of Mega-Em include compatibility with most protected mode software, interactive setup, single executable, better sounding patch set, faster loading time, allows UltraSound software to run at the same time as Mega-Em, automatic reloading of patch set when necessary, automatically unloads when Windows is run and automatically takes advantage of extra hardware (the 16 bit record/playback CODEC) on the UltraSound MAX. Sound Blaster music (FM) support is not included. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The new version of mega-em is located in the submit directory at EPAS and is called "mega303b.zip". I haven't tried it yet, but I'm a little dissapointed that it still requires emm386 to run. Most protected mode programs will not run on a PC with 4mb ram which is also running emm386. I hope Gravis fixes this in the final version. Full throttle works perfectly. There's no music in Dark Forces but that's no great loss since it sucks. The sound effects work perfectly though. There has been a lot of talk recently about Warcraft recently, and I just wanted to ask/sumerize... What is the latest version of warcraft right now? I got the update to 1.15 (which had 'native ultrasound support'... At first glance, it looks like the simply used the AIL drivers that Gravis released.. and added a configuration option to use them directly, instead of overwriting the SoundBasdard and MPU..) Second question... (a bit off topic, true...) is their any editors for Warcraft? Actual map editing editors? I saw a post stating something about an editor included with a revision... But I couldn't find the update at the FTP or the Epas list. Anybody care to comment with an equally large response?
