Am I just missing something obvious? > YES! The lockup is not a GUS problem; it's a memory or driver problem. First off, do you have the latest version of L386? (March 93, I think). It was issued to cure Soundblaster lockup and cures the problem with SBOS as well. Second, where is SBOS loaded? Where is mouse.sys loaded? What version of mouse.sys? What memory manager? What configuration? ALL of these variables contributed to my lockup until I got it straight. The point is that "lockup" is not GUS related. Perhaps sending me email direct can help solve your problem. For some reason, loading DOS=HIGH under QEMM 7.01 & MSDOS6 makes WC2 lock-up. Any idea when the panning control (MIDI controller 10) will be implemented? I thought this might be a pretty easy controller to implement. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Jul 1993 09:40:04 -0500 (CDT) From: Phil Johnson Subject: NMI problems Message-ID: lacking of the NMI procedure on the SBOS prg.. BUT... my puter (a DX2-66 on a VLFSD [?] v1.0 board, Intel chips) was running a-O.K. with SBOS, UNTIL.. about a few days ago, it suddenly gave me the NMI error, and I am really upset! I did not install a thing, nor did I mess with my motherboard, open the CPU case, or screw with CMOS.. I powered it on one day and SBOS just didn't work. I reinstalled SBOS that came on the 2.06 update, but that gave me the same error (I was using the v10B version till now).. is there anyone who can help? Gravis INSISTED it was because I didn't have a 100% compatible, which is false. Intereting thing is, see... I work at the local Best Buy Co. here and called the Tech line, saying I had a customer* with the problem. I told the Tech that the "customer" said it was working just fine a few days ago, but all of a sudden, whammo! The "Tech" promptly said, "No, that's wrong. It never worked to begin with." [click] First of all, Gravis, as a vendor of your product, I have sold about 10 of your sound cards in a month, cuz I love 'em. We have one set up as a demo and I show the customers PlayMIDI, 669 files, etc. My supervisor constantly plays .MOD files -- he's really into them. :') The customers turn out really impressed and buy one. HOWEVER, I'd like to better tech support than what I* got on the phone! I'm not sure who I spoke to (I'm not a finger-pointer anyhow).. but, I have had my computer for over a month now, with no problems whatsoever running games, Windows3.1, disk utilities, etc.. and then I get some guy who says [indirectly] that I'm a liar. Sorry, bud. Wrongo. So anyway, I am turning to our cult here. :') Can anyone help me resolve this "The NMI procedure on this P.C. is disabled." error? Please? You can convert ROL files to .MID files with a utility called ROL2MID which will give much better results than trying to emulate an Adlib. I got it from a BBS. I won't be able to upload it for a few days. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Jul 93 11:42:26 EDT From: Phat H Tran Subject: Re: Ultrasound Daily Digest V4 #43 Message-ID: <9307151542.AA12601@sciborg.uwaterloo.ca> > Date: Wed, 14 Jul 93 11:21:35 PDT > From: Lee Bollard > Subject: Pinball for Windows > Message-ID: <9307141821.AA13926@hpspkma.spk.hp.com> > > I just bought Pinball for Windows by Sierra/Dynamix. Also, you'll need to use the Conserve Memory driver option to fit all those patches in memory. (People, read Ultra Help.
