Hi guys, First, thanks for all the email. I got Jerry Koh's BAT files to switch from GUS to SB, and all that, and I finally got it working. Then I screwed it up again! Whenever I try to load SBOS, it fails with the "Interrupt timeout" error message. Anyone know why? I can't believe I goofed it up again. I even saved copies of the addresses, IRQs, DMAs, etc. in another set of BAT files, and they don't even work now. I'll keep toying with it, but damn it's getting old! When I start WIN-OS2 there is an errormessage that tells me to start windows in enhanced mode. But I have started WIN-OS2 in enhanced mode. Is there a possibility to run the windowsprograms for the gus in WINOS2? yours, Ulli Ulli Lehmann, eMail: lehmann@nilo.han.de CompuServe: 100112,1770 ## CrossPoint v2.92 ## ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 18 Dec 1993 11:15:09 -0500 From: KWAN RICHARD SIK YIU Subject: LSL6 & QOG4 I've installed LSL6, I do not know why the game crashes my windows if I run any programs (besides patch manager) before running the game. LSL6 runs only if it is started at the very beginning of the windows sessions. Perhaps the game doesn't like Windows for Workgroup or Norton Desktop 3.0. I hope someone could help me to solve this problem. Also I've noticed that Quest of Glory 4 supports windows, has anyone tried to run under windows, cause everyone says it cannot run with GUS under DOS because of the new 32-bit driver Sierra is using. Thanks in advance! It's easy and practical to do this. All yagoddado is take your sample, say its a .WAV file, and use WAV2PAT on it. This converts it to .PAT format. WAV2PAT is available on epas, as is RIPPER and MOD2PAT. RIPPER and MOD2PAT pull samples from MOD files and save them as patches. Now to get your gus to play the sound FX .PAT file you've created, all you have to do is put it in the ULTRASND.INI file. If you want, you can create a new bank for your sound FX patches, but you have to use software to play the music that supports the GUS' bank scheme. The newer versions of Power Chords Pro will do this. If you put the patch in Bank 0 (the default) you will be replacing one of the General MIDI patches with your new one. Now you just write a song, or trigger through an app that has MIDI through to get your FX. Come see us over on the Music digest, if you have more questions. Playroom itself has some problems because it runs out of memory now and then when I run without the sound board. I'll also follow up with Broderbund and post any info I get from them. Thanks! Hello everybody, This may seem like blasphemy, but does anybody know of a Sound Blaster/Pro/16 digest that works like this GUS digest? Admittedly, I would be interested in it. Could anyone tell me how to subscribe to such a digest? Thanks a lot, Foo Chik Chuan xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ------------------------------ End of GUS Daily Digest V9 #19 ******************************
